My Current Favourite Lipsticks+Review

Hi there! After a long break, I am back with my current favourite lipsticks to share with you. First of all, I am really sorry that I did not swatch these lipsticks on my lips. I do think it would make more sense if I swatched them on my lips so you will have a better idea of what they actually  look like with my skin tone. However, It is just that I always feel I have bad luck with close up photos (I am not a natural selfie person if you know what I mean). Nevertheless, I will try to practice and hopefully I could do this for the future blogs.

Lipstick (from left to right): Rimmel London Moisture Renew in the shade of 470 Glam Plum Fulham
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in the shade of 01
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in the shade of 08
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in the shade of 22
M.A.C Amplified in the shade of  Girl About Town
Maybelline Color Sensational in the shade of 906 Hot Plum
Bourjois Rouge Edition in the shade of 18
Estee Lauder Pure Color in the shade of 38 Twinkling Ruby

(New) Rimmel London Moisture renew lipstick-470
So far I really like this lipstick, the colour pigmentation is strong, it apply nicely and it feels very moisturising on the lips. I did feel that it is almost too moisturing that it would bleed, so I did put a little bit of setting powder to make it feels and looks more settled. This is the darkest colour I have ever used on my lips, I really like it. The only thing that I am not too keen about is the scent, it has some kind of  flower perfume scent which is not bad but I wish it is not as strong. I am very picky when it comes to the scent though.

Rating (on the scale of 1 to 5. 1 is the lowest score, and 5 is the highest score)
Pigmentation :4
Packeging: 2

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in the shade of 01
From the picture, I guess you can tell Rimmel is my favourite high street brand when it comes to lipsticks. It all begen with the Kate effect. I love Kate Moss, she is one of my favourite fashion icon if not the most. So I got so excited when this whole line came out. Though it wasn't to the point that I could justify myself to  buy all the shades like other beauty lovers. Anyway, this is the one Kate was wearing in her interviews as you may alright know, so I just have to have it and I have to say (how many 'have' i can put in a sentence? lol)  it didn't dispoint me at all!

08
This is a shade that is nude but better than my natural lip colour. It is such a nice every day lip product, easy to appy,  if you not comfortable with other intence lip colour but want to try, it is a perfect shade to start with.  I have this lipstick in the shade 03, which is lighter (has less pink in it) than 08, but it makes me look like a died person. For some reason, I found 03 is more drying compare to the other lipsticks that I tried from the same line, so be aware of that if you are intend to buy it.

22
A very bright red lip stick, not too blue, not too pink, which I think would suit many skin tones. It is a bit daring to wear in the day time I guess, but it will bring you alot of attention when you wear it in an event or somthing. Such a pretty colour.

pigmentation 5
packeging  5 (the Kate initial, and the little heart, and the simple black packeging, Rimmel did a really good job on this one!)
moisturising: 3
Lasting power: I don't really care about the lasting power as i will explain why down below.

Bourjois Rouge Edition in the shade of 18
Generally I don't like lipsick with any shimmer or sparkle in it, but I really like this Boujour listick because of the colour, and luckly the shimmer isn't anything too over. I am not so keen about the scent, but the color is unique and I think it is somthing worth to try in atumn and winter.
pigmentation: 4
packeging: 3
moisurising: 2.5

Mac girl about town (Amplified creme)
It applies very smoothly with no patchiness or drying sensation. But it isn't so soft that it bleeds or seems to smudge. I love the fuchia colour, I love the creamy feeling on my lips, I love the vanilla scent, I love the simple packeging, I love the name of the lipstick-girl about town, I love everthing about it...that says it all...
Pigmentation: 5
Moisturising: 3.5
Packeging: 5

Maybelline Color Sensational in the shade of 906 Hot Plum
Just like the name, this lipstick is sensational. It smells like honey, it is very pigmented, and it feels high end. From the photo, it looks very similar to Mac girl about town, but I wouldn't say it is exact dupe. (Having said that, I just ran to my toilet and applied both lipsticks on my lips to compare them, and I honestly could not tell much difference between them! So I guess it is a very good dupe then, lol). Bare in mind some of the shades from the same collection I have seen that are not as pigmented as this one, they are more sheer, but can be built up.

Estee Lauder Pure Color in the shade of 38 Twinkling Ruby
Estee Lauder is my all time favourite and trusty high end brand for skin care and make up products. Needless to say how great the quality or packeging is. With the right shade, i can promise you will never regrad buying it. I swear they didn't pay me for saying these, lol. I know that I mentioned I don't like lipstick with shimmer in it, but this one is an exception. It is by far, the most moisturising lipstick I have ever put on my lips (Rimmel moisture renew does the same job but Estee Lauder wins every other aspects except the price).  It applys so smoothly, it moisturise my lips just like a good lip balm does (much better than a vaseline I would say). It is not smuge or bleed on me, I don't need to use a lip liner underneath, but use a lip brush would helps for making everything neat. You can put just a little bit and smuge it out to make this shade more natural and day looking. If you are in the mood you can layer it up for a more glmaous look. Note: from the picture above, it looks so sheer, but it is very pigmented in real life.
Pigmentation:5
Moistursing:5
Packeging: 5

Overall, I think all the lispsticks that avbove are really pigmented, none of them are really drying on my lips, but the most moistering ones are Estee Lauder and Rimmel moisture renew, they are almost like a lip balm (though the texture of them still towards to traditional lipstick feeling) with supper pigmentation power. Having said that, if you prefer a really matt finished lipstick, then stay away from them lol. In terms of the scent, I think it is all down to personal preferences. My favourite of all these is Mac vanilla scent. The ones I don't really like are Rimmel renew lipstick and Boujours. They are both a bit itemidating to me, not as plasticky though, they are flower scented but a bit too much. The staying power, well, I can't really tell much about it, as I always swept my lipstick off during the day whenever I eat or drink anything and I reply it again. So, I would say they will stay around a good two hours on me. I have seen people are claiming that some of these lipstick staying on their lips around 6 hours or plus. To be honest, I think it never happened to me, I would feel so blessed if they could last even 3 hours without re-apply.

Last but not least, just a small tip for you. When you swatch the colour in the store (for most  high street ones), try it on your finger rather than other part of your hands or your arm. because our fingure colour is simlar to our natual lip colour , so you will have a better idea how it looks on your lips. From my own experience, I tried Rimmel London by Kate shade 03 on my arm in the store, it looked really good, but when I got home and put it on my lips, totally dispointed as i looked like a died person. I wish I knew this trick at the time so I could have came home with another shade that suit me. Anyone who lives in the UK knows that we can't return beauty product once we opened it. So jealous of those who live in the US.

I am sorry that I just realised I rambled a hell of alot in this blog, if you got to this point, thank you so much for reading! Tell me which is your favourite lipstick and  have a beautiful day!

Back to school oufit

Anyone going back to school? Well here is my version of back to school outfit. I hope you enjoy!

Coat: River Island; T-shirt:Hollister (sorry that you can't see it from the pic, but it is just a basic gray t-shirt that you can get from anywhere); Jeans: Hollister high rise supper skinny jeans, more information and review click here; Trainer: Top Shop; Racksack: Samsonite (borrowed from my hubby)

I pick the coat up from the last chance section yesterday from my local River Island store, sadly it is not available online, but if you are interested, try  your local store, I don't know the name as there is no tag on it when I bought it, but here is the item code: 5052300715622, the item cost £90, but RI doing a student offer 20% off of all full priced items, so it cost me £72. The offer will end tomorrow so make sure you go and take advantage of that lol. I do think it is abit pricy considering the big Christmas Sale just around the corner, and a similar coat may ended up around £40 or even cheaper, but it is the last one, so...I had to take it home with me. Today I worn this coat to a dinner and bar with friends, and I have to say, I am really impressed how warm and comfy it is. I am sorry but please don't hate me for rambling! I just love my new coat!

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog, and I hope you enjoy your weekend since it is almost Friday lol!

Saturday Brunch Ootd

Today I was having brunch with my hubby and thought maybe I could do a little brunch ootd on the way to our favourite cafe. It is very nice cafe shop but its not like some place that people would go with fancy outfit, it is very relax and friendly place, so I normally wear somthing that I feel comfortble and casual whenever  I go there. Plus I really wanted to wear my h&m jacket more, because I had it for more than 2 years, but I have only worn it like twice.  Anyway, here is what I was wearing today, and all the information is down below if you are interested.

Jacket: H&M
Vest top: River Island (current, on offer at 2 for £10) link: click here
Neckless: Miss Selfridge (current on sale, £2.50. only available in store.)
Bag: Nine West
Flat shoes: Tory Burch, similar click here
Ipad cover: TKMaxx
Skinny Jeans: Hollister, high rise, supper skinny, my size: 5R, W27 (I am size 10R for other brands).  (current, full price: £54, but they are doing offer at the moment, so I got it for 20% off which is around £43), link: click here

My thoughts on these jeans: Hollister jeans are not cheap compare to other high street jeans, but they are supper soft and comfy, it is thick, which is nice for cold weather,  it is a bit long for me but it flatters my figure more when I'm wearing high heels. Material wise, 75% cotton, 13% viscose, 11% polester, and 1% elastane (I don't know much about material, I put it here just in case if anyone interested). Overall, I do recommend them, I do think they are good value for money as I will wear them all year around.  The only thing bothers me is the shop is too dark, I tried 3 pairs of jeans (same style, different washes), but I could not tell much difference of the colour. So I asked my hubby to pick one for me. Good luck for finding a perfect fit jeans wheather you want to shop from hollister or anywhere else!

I always enjoyed having brunch in this cafe until....my hubby said, you know why I don't oder full english breakfast from here anymore? I looked at the plate, and suddently relised there is no big beans in the plate! no big beans for full english breakfast? I was sad, and I blame my hubby for that, if he never mentioned, I may never found out. Anyway, is it just me? what do you think of a full english breakfast without big beans (if you love big beans like me)?

10 Classic Black Statement Bags That Are Worth To Invest (Zara Current Season Vs. High End Brands)

Let's have a bag talk shall we? Zara, oh Zara! Hands down one of my favorite high street brand when it comes to handbags. I know one celebrity in particular looked super cute in one of the Zara leather shopper from past season, Olivia Palermo, check out her amazing outfit pictures from here.

Just the other day, I checked out Zara's new born arm candys. and found that few of them are cousins to some of the famous designer bags, (yes, counsins, not twins, not brothers or sisters, but cousins) as they don't really look alike, but I feel they are in some extend remind me other designer classic pieces, sort of in the same family tree which in a good way. So I decided to make some family charts and share with you my picks for classic black statement bags from Zara to high end brands. I hope you injoy!
